Independence Day assembly for the primary section was held on 14th August. The assembly was conducted by the students of class III A under the guidance of their teacher. The Assembly began with a prayer service followed by patriotic song, speech, importance of national symbols, patriotic dance, speech by principal and vote of thanks. The students went with a deep sense of love for thier country.
On August 15, Carmel Convent High School celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day and the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with great pride.
It is a remarkable day when we honor and respect all our freedom fighters and political patrons who fought for India’s freedom and The Mother Mary’s unique role in salvation and the promise of Resurrection.
The celebration started with welcoming of the dignatories led by the school band. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, chief guest Mr. & Mrs. Joy & Alzira Correia unflured the tricolor flag and the entire carmel family in unison sang the National Anthem, The Flag song, the state song & recited the pledge.
The Programme was further continued in the Mother Veronica Hall with the Chief Guest being welcomed by the Manager and the Principal.
Class VI A was in charge of the Independence day programme. The assembly, a fusion of cultural exuberance and solemn reflection, commenced with the Prayer service followed by the Patriotic song, an inspiring video on “Aazadi”, speeches by the students and chief guest, a patriotic dance performance and the felicitation of the SSC toppers for the academic year 2023 – 24. The function concluded with a mesmerizing band performance by the Band students and followed by the words of gratitude. The overall celebration of Independence Day 2024 truly captured the significance of this historic day, not just as a remembrance of past sacrifices, but as a reflection of its ongoing importance in shaping the lives of every Indian. The event was full of patriotism and Enthusiasm that kindled a sense of love for the country within the children.
