Teacher’s Day :
The Pre Primary celebrated Teacher’s Day on 3rd September 2025 with great joy and respect to honour the hard work and dedication of the teachers.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the teachers, followed by a prayer service seeking blessings for their good health and happiness. The little ones then expressed their gratitude through a thank you song, filling the atmosphere with love and cheer.
To make the celebration more lively, the children presented joyful dance performances on songs, which brought smiles to the faces of all the teachers. The entire event reflected the affection and admiration the young students hold for their teachers.
The celebration concluded on a happy note, leaving behind sweet memories of love and respect.
G.K. Quiz Competition :
A General Knowledge Quiz Competition was organized for the SR. K. G. students on 9th September, 2025. The aim of the competition was to develop awareness, recall, and quick-thinking skills among the little learners in an engaging way.
The quiz covered a variety of interesting topics such as Shapes, Colours, Good Manners, Good Habits, Indoor Games, Outdoor Games, Actions, and Hobbies. The children participated enthusiastically, answering questions with confidence and excitement.
The event provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their knowledge and learn new facts in a fun-filled manner. Teachers and classmates encouraged the participants with applause, making the atmosphere lively and motivating.
Sister Manuelina was the judge for the competition.
The competition concluded successfully, leaving the students more curious and eager to explore the world around them.
Math Handwriting Competition – SR. K.G.
On Thursday 11th September, a Math Handwriting Competition was conducted for the students of Sr. K.G. The aim of this event was to help children practice neat and correct writing of numbers from 1 to 50, while also building their confidence in number formation.
The little learners participated with excitement and dedication. They focused on writing the numbers clearly, maintaining proper size, spacing, and alignment. The activity gave them an opportunity to strengthen their fine motor skills and develop accuracy in numerical writing.
Several students displayed excellent handwriting, and their efforts were specially appreciated. The competition proved to be an enriching experience, encouraging all participants to take pride in presenting their work neatly and carefully.
The event concluded successfully, leaving the students motivated to continue improving their handwriting and number writing skills.
English Handwriting Competition – SR. K.G
An English Handwriting Competition was organized for the students of Sr. K.G. on 12th September,2025. The objective of the competition was to encourage children to develop neatness, clarity, and confidence in writing cursive letters from Aa to Zz.
All the students participated enthusiastically and showcased their ability to write the English alphabets in cursive form. The young learners made sincere efforts to maintain proper strokes, spacing, and uniformity in their writing.
The competition not only helped in improving their handwriting skills but also motivated them to take pride in presenting their written work neatly. The best entries were appreciated and recognized for their excellence.
Overall, the event was a joyful and fruitful learning experience, providing the students with an opportunity to strengthen their handwriting skills in an enjoyable manner.
Fancy Dress Competition SR. K.G.
The much-awaited Fancy Dress Competition (Open Category) for SR.K.G. was held on 17th October, 2025 in the vibrant atmosphere of Mother Veronica Hall. The stage came alive as children showcased their creativity, confidence, and charm through a variety of thought-provoking and entertaining costumes.
The participants mesmerized the audience by dressing up as teachers, doctors, and farmers, reminding everyone of their importance in society. Some children highlighted modern issues by becoming “Less Use of Gadgets”, raising awareness about spending more time in the real world. The Milky Way costume sparkled beautifully, igniting curiosity about space and the wonders of the universe. Another innovative idea was “Newspaper”, symbolizing the importance of information and knowledge.
The themes of “Social Media” and “Traffic Signal” added a touch of humour and wisdom, while “Save Water” carried a strong message on the need to conserve our most precious resource. Each participant, through their attire and expressions, left the audience inspired and delighted.
The competition was not just a feast for the eyes but also a platform for children to express creativity, awareness, and confidence. The judges, Sr. Manuelina and Mrs. Punam appreciated the efforts of the little participants and applauded their parents and teachers for encouraging such meaningful presentations.
The event ended with smiles, applause, and the message that costumes are not just for fun, but also for learning and spreading awareness.
Maths Handwriting Competition – JR. K.G.
The Maths Handwriting Competition for JR. K.G. was held on 18th September, 2025 where students were tasked with writing numbers from 1 to 20. The activity saw excellent participation from all the students, who enthusiastically took part and showcased their math skill. Overall, the students demonstrated good number writing abilities, with most writing the numbers correctly.
The competition was conducted in a fun and engaging manner, allowing students to build confidence in their math skills. It was heartening to see all students participating and attempting to write numbers from 1 to 20. The activity not only tested their number recognition but also helped reinforce their writing skills.
Overall, the Math competition was a success and it was wonderful to see the student’s enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Congratulations to all the participants for their efforts.
English Handwriting Competition – JR. K.G.
The English Handwriting Competition for JR. K.G. was held on 19th September, 2025. It was a success, showcasing their writing skills as they wrote alphabets from A to Z. While most students excelled in writing accurately and neatly, a few children faced challenges and require additional support and practice. Overall, the competition highlighted the potential and progress of our young learners. Most students demonstrated a good understanding of alphabet writing, but some need extra practice to improve their skills. Regular writing exercise and additional practice session will help enhance their skills.
Show and Tell Competition – JR.K.G.
The Show and Tell Competition for Jr. K.G. was held on 22nd September, 2025. It was a huge success, with the theme “Nature” bringing out the creativity in each participant. Students dressed up as trees, flowers, birds, and animals, showcasing their imagination and confidence. Each student presented their topic with confidence, using simple language, props, and gestures to convey their message.
The judges appreciated the students’ enthusiasm, creativity, and public speaking skills, noting that the use of visual aids enhanced their presentations. Overall, the event provided a valuable platform for students to express themselves, build their self-esteem, and develop essential communication skills.
Rhymes Competition – JR. K.G.
The Rhymes Recitation Competition was held on 23rd September, 2025. They picked chits with different rhyme titles and recited them with confidence. The rhymes they recited included fun topics like rain, umbrellas, fruits, and animals. The students had learned these rhymes over the past few months and did a great job remembering and reciting them.
The students also dressed up according to the theme, which added to the excitement of the event. Their confidence and public speaking skills were impressive, and it was clear that they had practiced a lot.
After the competition, the top 3 students were chosen for their excellent recitation and confidence. The event was a huge success and helped the students build their confidence and public speaking skills. It was a fun and engaging way for them to learn and showcase their talents.
Show & Tell Competition – SR. K.G.
The SR. K.G students of Carmel convent Pre Primary Centre, celebrated the beauty and wonder of the environment through a highly successful Show and Tell Competition held on September 26, 2025, in the Mother Veronica Hall. The event, cantered around the vibrant theme of Nature, aimed to nurture public speaking skills, boost confidence, and in still an appreciation for the natural world among our youngest learners.
The atmosphere in Mother Veronica Hall was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. Each little participant, dressed smartly, was eager to showcase their chosen piece of nature and share its significance. The judges SR. Manuelina and Tr. Gloria, were all equipped to pen down the numbers while evaluating the children based on confidence, clarity of presentation, props and relevance to the theme.
The creativity displayed by the students and their parents was commendable. Children confidently presented a diverse array of natural treasures:
* Flora and fauna which contribute to the beauty of nature were well presented.
The genuine enthusiasm and articulate, though sometimes shy, explanations from the children truly brought the theme to life. The competition successfully transformed the process of speaking in front of an audience into a joyful sharing experience.
In between few General knowledge questions were asked to the non-participants, involving them in discussions.
The event concluded with the judges praising all participants for their spirit and preparation. Our Pre-Primary in charge Sister Manuelina, acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Sr. K.G. teachers for their guidance and the parents for their dedicated preparation at home. Such events are vital in the formative years, providing a platform for holistic development. Every child left the hall with smiling faces and a renewed sense of confidence and connection to the world around them.
Good Parenting Session.
A Parenting Session was conducted on 27th September, 2025 in Mother Veronica Hall for the Pre-Primary parents. The session aimed at guiding parents towards adopting valuable and effective parenting styles for the holistic development of their children.
The Resource person, Rev. Fr. Macson Dabre OCD, an experienced and dynamic speaker, enlightened the parents on various types of parenting. He explained in detail the authoritarian parenting, where discipline and strictness dominate, the permissive parenting, where freedom is given without boundaries, the neglected parenting, where children are often left without guidance, and the over-involved parenting, where excessive interference hampers a child’s independence.
Through engaging examples and real-life situations, Fr. Dabre emphasized the importance of striking a balance in parenting. He encouraged parents to reflect on their own styles and make conscious efforts to nurture children with love, patience, and understanding.
The session concluded with the powerful message: “Change begins with you.” Parents were motivated to bring about small but meaningful changes in their approach to ensure their children grow into confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals.
The session was highly enriching and left the parents with deep insights into their vital role in shaping their child’s future.
Fancy Dress Competition – JR. K.G.
On 30th September, 2025 the Fancy Dress Competition was held for JR. K.G. It was a huge success. A total of 55 tiny tots participated, dressed in a wide range of creative costumes. From doctors to lotus flowers, teapots to fisherwomen, astronauts to soldiers, and even a shining sun, the variety was amazing!
The students showed great confidence and enthusiasm as they presented themselves in front of the judges and audience. Their costumes were creative and well-made.
The judges were thoroughly impressed with the performances and selected the top 3 participants who stood out from the rest.
The event was not only fun but also helped the students build their confidence and showcase their creativity. Congratulations to all the participants for their wonderful performances!
Vanmahotsava –– Sapling Plantation – JR. K.G.
On 27th September, 2025 our Jr. KG students embarked on a green initiative by planting saplings in the school garden. Some students brought a sapling and planted it, taking ownership of its care. They wrote their name on their sapling, which will be kept with them until they reach Grade 10.
This activity not only taught the students about the importance of plants and the environment but also instilled a sense of responsibility and nurturing skills. The students were thrilled to watch their saplings grow and look forward to caring for them over the years.
The sapling plantation drive was a resounding success, and we are confident that our young learners will develop a lifelong appreciation for nature and the environment. Congratulations to our Jr. KG students on this wonderful initiative!
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – SR. K.G.
The students of Sr. K.G enthusiastically participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activity held on 3rd October, 2025 in the school premises. The theme for the day was “Clean India, Green India.”
The little Carmelites took part in cleaning their classroom and school ground. Teachers explained the importance of cleanliness and how keeping our surroundings clean helps us stay healthy and happy.
Through this activity, our young learners understood that every small step counts in keeping our School and Country clean and green. Let’s make our Country Shine!”
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – JR. K.G.
On 1st October, 2025, JR. KG students celebrated Swachhata Diwas: “Green India Clean India”. The students enthusiastically participated in cleaning activities, sweeping the school surroundings and picking up litter.
In their classrooms, they cleaned walls, benches, and windows, and even swept the floors. The students’ efforts were commendable, and the school premises looked spotless after their hard work.
This initiative taught the students the importance of cleanliness and taking care of their environment. Congratulations to JR. K.G. students for their enthusiasm and dedication to making our school a cleaner and greener place!
