Earthen Diya Decorating Competition – Senior K.G.
The Earthen Diya Decorating Competition for the Senior K. G. students was held on 13th October,2025 with great enthusiasm. The little ones beautifully decorated their diyas using vibrant colours, glitters, mirrors, and sequins. Their creativity and excitement lit up the atmosphere just like the diyas themselves.
The activity helped the children to express their artistic skills and understand the significance of Diwali — the festival of lights and joy. Each diya reflected the bright imagination and festive spirit of the tiny artists. It was truly a colourful and delightful experience for all.
Diya Colouring Competition –Junior K.G.
On 16th October, 2025 Diya colouring competition was held for Junior K.G. This activity was a resounding success, with Junior K.G. students enthusiastically participating and showcasing their artistic talents. The young artists had a blast colouring the traditional diyas, exploring their creativity, and learning about the significance of diyas in Diwali celebrations. The event provided a wonderful platform for students to express themselves, develop their fine motor skills, and take home their colourful creations. Overall, it was a fun and educational experience for all involved, adding to the festive spirit of Diwali.
Diwali Celebration
The Pre-Primary section of our school joyfully celebrated the festival of lights—Diwali on 16th October,2025. The celebration began with the welcoming of our sister-in-charge, Sister Manuelina, who was warmly greeted as she held a lighted candle, symbolizing the spreading of light, joy, and goodness.
The event commenced with a beautiful prayer dance, invoking God’s blessings for peace, prosperity, and happiness. Following this, a prayer service was conducted, where the little ones prayed for love and unity in every home and heart.
The children then sang the melodious song “This Little Guiding Light of Mine”, filling the hall with their cheerful voices and bright smiles. The celebration reached its peak with a vibrant festive dance, where the tiny tots expressed the joy and spirit of Diwali through colourful costumes and energetic movements.
The entire programme radiated warmth, happiness, and togetherness, truly reflecting the message of Diwali — the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It was a delightful and memorable celebration for both teachers and children.
November 2025
Children’s Day:
On 14th November 2025, we celebrated Children’s Day in Mother Veronica Hall. The programme began with an opening prayer followed by the prayer song “Thank You Lord.” The children offered the symbol prayer with Candle, Book, Heart, Flower, and Globe, thanking God for light, knowledge, love, beauty, and the world.
A graceful prayer dance was performed by the children. Later, joyful songs were played and the children danced along with their teachers. Teacher Agnes and Teacher Nivlen were in charge of the celebration. Snacks were distributed and all the children were very happy. It was a simple, joyful, and blessed celebration.
Dance Competition – Junior K.G.
The school organized a Dance Competition for Junior K.G. on 19 November, 2025 in Mother Veronica Hall. A few children participated and performed beautiful cultural dances, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm. Sr. Jenifa and Sr. Rachel were the judges for the event. Tr. Nivlen and Tr. Agnes encouraged the participants, prepared a lovely backdrop, and hosted the competition smoothly. Parents took great effort to teach their children and prepared them well for the event. Sweets were distributed to all participating students. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable day for everyone.
Dance Competition – Senior K.G.
Dance competition was held for S.R KG class on 21st November, 2025 in Mother Veronica hall. All the children were very excited and happy to take part in the event.
The little children danced to cheerful songs with colourful costumes and cute movements. Teachers and students enjoyed watching their performances and clapped for them. The children danced with smiles and confidence.
The judges appreciated all the participants and encouraged them. certificates were given to the children. The competition ended with happiness and joy. It was a fun and memorable day for everyone.
Wealth out of waste Activity:
The Wealth Out of Waste activity was conducted with great enthusiasm, focusing on the important theme “Nature”. The event encouraged students and parents to work together creatively while promoting environmental awareness and the importance of recycling.
Parents and children actively participated as a team to transform waste materials into beautiful, useful and nature-themed products. Items such as plastic bottles, newspapers, cardboard boxes, coconut shells, ice-cream sticks, old CDs and fabric scraps were innovatively used to design flower vases, planters, animal figures, pen stands, bird feeders and other eco-friendly crafts.
The main objectives of this activity were to instil the values of reduce, reuse and recycle, develop creativity, strengthen parent-child bonding, and inspire responsibility towards protecting our natural environment. It was a delight to see tiny hands and big hearts working together, showcasing imagination and craftsmanship.
The final display of all creations truly represented the theme — Nature — highlighting greenery, animals, flowers and the beauty of the Earth. The judges appreciated the efforts and unique ideas of each team. The event concluded with a message to continue such eco-friendly practices at home and contribute to a cleaner, greener future. The Wealth Out of Waste activity was a wonderful learning experience for everyone and successfully conveyed the importance of caring for our planet with small yet impactful actions. The articles made were put up for display on the Pre Primary Open Day.
Maths writing Competition:
Senior K.G. students took part in maths writing competition 51 -100 held on 25th November, 2025. The purpose of this competition was to help the children to improve their number formation, sequencing, neatness and speed in writing numbers from 51 to 100. All the students were asked to write numbers 51 to 100 within the given time. They participated with interest and enthusiasm. Teachers evaluated the work based on correct number order, proper number formation, spacing and overall neatness. This competition helped the young learners strengthen their number writing skills and boosted their confidence in mathematics. Certificates were not given to the children since they had not performed well.
English Handwriting Competition:
Senior K.G. students participated in two letters handwriting competition conducted on 28th November, 2025. The main objective of this competition was to help the children to improve their letter formation, spacing, pencil grip and overall writing neatness. All the students were given dictation of two letter words. The children participated with great interest and enthusiasm. Teachers evaluated the handwriting based on clarity, neatness, proper letter formation and correct spacing. This competition helped the students to gain confidence and develop better writing habits. Certificates were not given to the children since they had not performed well.

Christmas Party
The Pre- Primary celebrated their Christmas party on Thursday, 18th December. Children came in their party wear. Christmas carols filled the atmosphere giving Christmas vibes. Children enjoyed dancing on few songs, snacks and gifts were distributed.
Annual Day
Carmel Convent Pre-Primary celebrated its Annual Day with great joy and enthusiasm on Saturday, 20th December 2025 on the Carmel School Grounds, beautifully reflecting the theme “Hope.” The programme showcased the talents of our little ones and conveyed a powerful message of optimism, faith, and positivity.
The programme commenced with a prayer dance, invoking God’s blessings and setting a serene and meaningful tone for the celebration. The theme of Hope was creatively expressed through a series of skits and dances, where the children confidently portrayed messages of love, kindness, patience, and trust in brighter tomorrows. Their innocent expressions and graceful movements won the hearts of everyone present.
We were honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest Dr. Mrs. Runa Dabreo, whose gracious presence added dignity to the occasion. Her encouraging words inspired both parents and teachers and appreciated the efforts of the children and staff.
An important highlight of the programme was the awarding of scholarships, recognizing and encouraging students for their achievements and potential. This gesture reinforced the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds with hope and confidence.
The celebration also included a beautifully presented Christmas tableau, reminding everyone of the message of peace, love, and hope that Christmas brings. The tableau was visually appealing and meaningful, leaving a lasting impression.
Adding grandeur to the event, the Carmel Band, played by our talented students, mesmerized the audience with their disciplined and melodious performance, showcasing teamwork and dedication.
The Annual Day celebration was a grand success and truly reflected the spirit of Hope, leaving parents and guests with joyful memories and a sense of pride in our young learners.
