The Carmel Convent High School had their Annual Sports day on 17th January 2015. It was a great day for all the students to display their talents through drill, Pyramids, dance, Aerobics, Events etc. The Chief Guest Fr. Andrew Rodrigues S.J. encouraged our students to give importance to sports in their lives as it could also be a career opportunity for some. He also said to be happy and make others happy and to work hard to be successful in life.
During this occasion we had with us Colonel Manohar Karpe, an Army officer who served our country for 32 years during the 2nd world war as our special guest. During the Apostolic pilgrimage of our Holy Father Emeritus Pope John Paul II to India in 1986 (Shillong, Meghalaya) colonel Manaohar Karpe was privileged to be his Personal security guard for 3 days. As a token of love and gratitude, Holy Father gifted him with a Rosary and a Gold Medal. This Annual sports day was gracefully blessed by our Holy Father as Colonel Manahor Karpe handed over these Precious Relics to Carmel School. The entire Family of Carmel thank Colonel Manohar Karpe, as we consider ourselves privileged and honored to receive these relics.
