The Diwali assembly at Carmel Convent High School, was conducted by the the Class of VIII B under the guidance of Tr. Cecilia Fernandes on 14th October, 2024 on the school ground. The assembly highlighted how Diwali is a time to reflect on how we can bring light into our own lives and the lives of others. Teacher Martha and Aunty Cecilia were also given a farewell during the assembly Mr. Nayan Pereira was also felicitated for his service in training the band students.
The assembly began with the lighting of the lamp followed by the prayer service. The Programmme then continued with the significance of Diwali followed by a short value – based skit. Next all were entertained with a dance performance by the students. The farewell function had Tr. Martha being felicitated along with Mr. Nayan Pereira. Aunty Cecilia could not be present beacuse of her ill – health. The students further presented a beautiful rendition of a song for them. Principal Sr. Joviana then expressed her thoughts on the occassion followed by Tr. Martha. The Programme finally ended with the vote of thanks acknowledging all those who helped make the assembly a grand success.
