29th November 2013, was a red-letter day for the students of Std. IX. The students assembled early in the morning on the school grounds. We then along with the Principal and 3 other teachers set out on our journey to the Science world, at Worli. Everyone was very excited. After reaching Worli, we first went to the science-centre where we saw the sub-marines, various types of Navy Ships, Static-electric force and its demonstration. A show related to tricks in science was shown to us. Then different types of ancient civilizations and lifestyle of ancient people, musical instruments, light techniques, animal sounds, etc were shown to us. We were also happy to see the natural calamities such as landscapes, earthquake that effect our mother earth and its various movements which increased our knowledge and also gave us a sense of belongingness and to preserve our mother earth for our better tomorrow. These exhibits were really worth- watching.
The students were looking forward to go to the Art Gallery where sets depicting palaces of Queens and Kings, Caves and Harappan civilizations were displayed to us. A video on lifestyle and Indian culture was shown to us and we were proud to be part of the rich culture of our country. We then proceeded to the Nehru Planetarium. First the students were asked few questions related to universe and then they were taken to the Sky theatre. With awe and wonder we were watching the wonder of God’s creation in the universe. We were so overwhelmed after being in the theatre that some of us were unable to express our feelings. With deep gratitude and the wonderful memories of this science world we started our return journey by 4.30 p.m. The sweet memories are still alive in my mind and heart. It is so wonderful to be a part of the science world.
