2nd October is an unforgettable day not only in the history of our nation but also in the history of the world. India’s third national festival Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. Peace has its own reward, these beautiful and inspiring words tell us about our great leader Mahatma Gandhi.

The feast of Saint Therese of child Jesus is celebrated every year on 1st of October. Saint Therese lived only for 24 years, but during this short span of her life she blossomed like a beautiful flower in a garden. The simple virtues that she had were emeralds that took her to sainthood.

The students of class 7 A along with their class teacher Tr. Joycee conducted the assembly. The photos of Mahatma Gandhi and Saint Therese were garland by the Manager, Sr. Gunvanti, and Sr. Nathalia Mary.

Gandhiji was a man of simple tastes and values. He began his day with a prayer, the assembly began with a short prayer service followed by a speech on Gandhiji by Miss Simiya. A skit on cleanliness was performed followed by a song and a small video clip on St. Therese of child Jesus was shown.

Gujarat takes great pride in the fact that Mahatma Gandhi, India’s Father of the Nation, was born there. Gujarat is also well-known for its traditional dances. The students performed the dandiya and garba in light of this.

The message conveyed through the assembly was that we must change who we are in order to change the way society thinks. In order to make the world a better place, we should also work on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
