29th August is the Birthday of Major Dhyanchand, who was an Indian Field Hockey Player. He was considered as the greatest Hockey Player in the history of sports and hence this day i.e 15th August is celebrated as National Sports Day.
To mark this day Sir Sunil and Tr. Indira organized 1st Online Chess Competition for the students from Std III to X . Thank you to all the participants and the parents who supported inspite of the network challenge.
We would like to Thank Sir Sunil and Tr Indira for organizing the competition. A big Thank you to Mr. Gajanan Soni (State Level Arbiter- Chief Refree) for his help without whom this competition would not have been possible to organize, also would like to thank the Carmel –ex students Association Committee Members and Chris Tuscano (Vice President of CESA) for their support and sponsors . Above all Thank you to Sr. Joviana Fernandes A.C. Principal of the school for giving permission to conduct the online chess Competition .
The felicitation of the winners was held on 10th September 2021 . The Trophies for the competition was sponsored by Carmel Ex. Students Association . A small token of gratitude was given to Mr. Gajanan Soni (State Level Arbiter- Chief Refree)
