Carmel Convent High School celebrated the Republic Day of India on 26th January at 7:45 a.m. on the school campus with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The programme was organised by Class 7B.
The celebration began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr. Jovian Fernandes, an ex-student of the school. He was welcomed by the school band and accompanied by the Manager Sr.Manuelina Principal Sr.Joviana,Sir Francis & Mr. Robert Lobo. He was formally introduced and honoured with a potted plant.
This was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony, after which the National Anthem, Flag Song, and the Pledge were sung and taken with great pride and respect for the nation.
Next, the students presented a disciplined March Past, showcasing unity and discipline.
A prayer service, patriotic songs, and a colourful dance performance added charm to the programme. A student from Class 7 delivered a speech highlighting the importance of Republic Day and the values of the Indian Constitution.
The Chief Guest then addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. Later, Std. 10 students were felicitated, and prizes were distributed to students who excelled in scholarships and sports. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
The celebration was meaningful and instilled a sense of patriotism and unity among the students.
